About the Show
Real conversations with business owners about what it actually takes to build and run a company.
What The Owner's Playbook Is
The Owner's Playbook is a podcast-style conversation with real business owners, founders, and operators. It is not a product demo. It is not a highlight reel of success stories.
It's a place to talk plainly about running a business: how they got started, what's hard right now, what's working, what broke, and what they wish they'd known sooner.
The show covers business, entrepreneurship, veterans' issues, and topics tied to the hosts' backgrounds. The focus stays on the guest and their experience as an owner or operator, especially in small and medium-sized businesses.
Typical episode length: ~20 minutes (flexible)
Meet the Hosts

Josh Caruso
Co-Host
Josh co-hosts The Owner's Playbook and writes articles on leadership, technology, and business strategy. He pulls on interesting threads, reacts in the moment, and helps guests unpack the decisions and experiences behind their stories.
Josh spent 18 years in the Marine Corps leading teams in high-pressure intelligence environments. After the Marine Corps, he opened two small businesses—a fitness studio and a dance company—and discovered that running a business can feel just as chaotic, except you're completely on your own. That experience led him to found Omnyra AI Inc., where he serves as CEO. He holds an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler.

Doug Ebenal
Producer & Co-Host
Doug produces and co-hosts The Owner's Playbook and writes articles on operations, management, and business fundamentals. He keeps the conversation flowing, manages transitions between topics, and makes sure guests never feel rushed or put on the spot.
Doug spent over 20 years in the Marine Corps, most of it in intelligence—building teams, running operations, and giving commanders the clarity they needed to act fast. He's the Co-Founder & COO of Omnyra AI Inc., where he oversees operations and go-to-market strategy, and is currently pursuing his MBA.
